Tuina Massage

After the first session I saw results in the wrinkles between the eyebrows and around the lips. After 6 sessions the whole bulb!

The Tuina or tui-na massage (pronounced twee-nah) comes from ancient China and is believed to be the oldest massage technique. It is one of the four main components of traditional Chinese medicine, along with acupuncture, Qi Gong and Chinese herbal medicine.

It is based on the theory that imbalances of qi, which is the vital force or energy of the body’s life, can cause blockages or imbalances that lead to symptoms such as pain and illness.

The Tuina massage stimulates the flow of qi to promote balance and harmony within the body using many of the same principles of acupuncture.

It is similar to acupuncture in the way it targets specific acupuncture points, but therapists use fingers instead of needles to exert pressure to stimulate these points. Tuina massage is often used in conjunction with acupuncture.

How the Tuina massage works?

The philosophy and principles of massage with tuina are based on traditional Chinese medicine, which focuses on emotional and physical elements of a person’s well-being, as well as on aspects such as climate, relationships and nutrition.

The underlying philosophy of tuina massage is that health is achieved when one has found internal harmony and balance as well as in their environment.

The goal of tuina massage is to create harmony in the yin and yang of the body, to get rid of blockages and disorders that manifest as illness and emotional problems.

Similar to acupuncture, tuina massage uses the same active meridians and acupuncture points to balance the qi and blood in your body, leading to better health. Qi that flows incorrectly can cause blockages, such as poor blood circulation in the affected area.

The main therapeutic goal of tuina massage is to remove the energy blocks that cause stagnation of qi.
